Fair and Poor Health Status

Excerpts from The National Health Survey Report, page II-2

U.S. residents age 65 or older were more likely than those under 65 to report that their health was fair or poor (65+=29% vs. 45-64=16%, 35-44=9%, 18-34=5%). Respondents with higher incomes were less likely than those with low or poverty-level incomes to report their health as fair or poor (10% vs. 22% and 35%). Similarly, those U.S. residents having less than a high school diploma were more likely than those with a high school degree or those with at least some college education to rate their health status as fair or poor (37% vs. 17% and 8%). (Charts 2 and 3)
